Separate the two official voice states
Robotic proximity voice remains under investigation. The current launch thread describes continuing partner work on the issue. It also names distorted voice and directional audio among launch priorities.
The PS5 audio cut-out issue is listed as resolved in Hotfix 1. If it still occurs, record the current build and report a regression rather than presenting the old scheduled state as current.
Follow one diagnostic chain
- Check the latest official status and record when the problem occurred.
- Name the platform, exact symptom and affected voice channel.
- Verify that the platform microphone input and game output are active. Do not guess an unsupported in-game menu path.
- Test one voice channel and record whether other players heard silence, distortion, interruption or normal speech.
- Close and relaunch the game, then repeat the same test in the same channel.
- If the problem remains, report it with the evidence package below.
Stop local changes when the issue is acknowledged
If your symptom matches an acknowledged voice problem, stop changing unrelated local configuration. Repeated changes make comparison harder and can erase useful evidence. Record the result and use the current official reporting path instead.
Evidence package
- Platform and current game build
- Headset or microphone model
- Affected channel
- Time and context of the test
- What you heard and what other players heard
- Result before and after one relaunch
Why the older playtest page is context only
The July crossplay-playtest page documents the move to EOS Voice Chat and then-current integration work. That is useful architecture history, but it does not replace the dated launch-thread status and must not be treated as a current fix guide.
