Choose by scope, not weapon fantasy
The official game material confirms these unit families and the chain of command. It does not yet give this guide a stable total role count.
Official press-kit image © Team17 / Expression GamesLeadership is a separate commitment
Commander works at team level; Squad Leader connects team intent to a unit. Official launch information makes both tutorials mandatory before role selection. The two compact briefs below merge the verified responsibility boundaries into this page instead of publishing thin standalone guides.
What is confirmed before tactics
- 01Before selection
Complete the required Commander tutorial. It covers the role's key mechanics and responsibilities.
- 02At team level
Understand where Commander sits: above unit leaders in the published chain of command.
- 03During coordination
Keep the team-level objective legible to unit leaders. Exact ability values and opening orders are deliberately not asserted here.
Receive → translate → move → report
This loop explains responsibility, not exact controls, spawn placement or equipment.
- 01Receive
Take the team-level objective from Commander.
- 02Translate
Turn that intent into one clear unit action.
- 03Move
Keep the unit coordinated under pressure.
- 04Report
Return the useful result or blocker up the chain.
“Unit, hold this objective while I confirm the next move.”
“Commander, unit is in position; awaiting the next priority.”Examples written for this guide. They are not official voice-channel rules or quoted in-game lines.
Verified unit families, not invented loadouts
Official game material names infantry, recon, armour, mortar and helicopter units. This hub does not convert those families into exact equipment tables or universal tactics without stronger evidence.
